Bathroom

A bathroom can be more than just a functional space. Microcement transforms it into a peaceful, spa-like surface free from tile joints and coldness.

Instead of tiles – one continuous, matte surface. Without joints where mold and dirt accumulate, the bathroom becomes brighter, calmer, and much easier to maintain.

Microcement is a thin mineral coating applied directly over existing tiles or walls. It is resistant to moisture and splashes, warm to the touch, and available in natural, calming shades – ideal for a modern bathroom.

Shower area

Shower area – where a different solution is needed

Being honest about where microcement is not used in the bathroom.

Mira microcement is moisture- and splash-resistant, making it perfect for the entire bathroom – walls, bathtub, and sink areas.

However, it cannot withstand a direct, continuous stream of water, which is why it is not used in the shower area. In places where water directly and regularly touches the surface, a different solution is needed – such as tiles or a dedicated waterproofing system.

This can be used to your advantage: microcement throughout the bathroom combined with tiles solely in the shower niche creates a thoughtful, intentional contrast – a cohesive, modern space with a practical, waterproof shower zone.

Walls

/ 04

Seamless walls

Seamless walls are the greatest benefit for a bathroom. Without tile joints, there is no place for mold to build up – the surface is hygienic and can be wiped clean with a single swipe of a cloth.

Microcement can be applied directly over old tiles, making renovation possible without demolition or debris. Sealed with 4720 decor topcoating, it is resistant to moisture and steam.

The result is a calm, cohesive space where the walls flow seamlessly from one to another.

Shades for the bathroom

Calm, spa-like shades – from light neutrals to deep ocean.

Light shades – White, Silver, and Gray – make the bathroom bright, clean, and spacious. They resemble natural stone and create a calm, spa-like feel.

For deeper accents, Ocean works beautifully with its calm bluish-green hue, or Olive for warmth; Anthracite creates a dramatic, modern contrast. Each shade is evenly pigmented throughout the material.

Care and maintenance

/ 06

Care and hygiene

Without tile joints, the bathroom stays clean with minimal effort.

Hygienic daily life

A seamless surface means there are no tile joints where mold and dirt can accumulate. For daily care, a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner are all you need.

After a shower or bath, it is recommended to wipe the surface dry – just like any bathroom surface – to maintain its appearance for years to come.

Long-lasting protection

The protective coating 4720 decor topcoating makes the surface water-resistant and easier to maintain. Over time, it can be reapplied to ensure the surface retains its water resistance.

Avoid strong, abrasive cleaning agents that can damage the protective lacquer. Properly cared for, the surface will last for years in the bathroom.
