Everything you need to know before you start"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Microcement is a thin decorative cement-based coating that creates a continuous, seamless surface. Unlike tiles or panels, it forms no joints or seam lines \u2014 the result is a monolithic, smooth or lightly textured surface that looks modern and natural at the same time. In recent years it has become one of the most popular solutions in contemporary interiors, and for good reason. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A thin layer, a big effect <\/strong><br>Microcement is applied in thin layers \u2014 usually only a few millimetres thick. That means it can be applied directly on top of the existing surface without losing room space. The work is done in stages: first the surface is prepared and primed, then the microcement layers are applied, and finally the surface is sealed with a protective coating that makes it durable and easy to look after. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What can it be applied to?<\/strong><br>One of the biggest advantages is how adaptable it is. Microcement can be applied over concrete, drywall, plaster and even old tiles. That is exactly why it is often a faster and cleaner solution in renovations \u2014 there is no need to remove the old finish, which means less dust and less construction waste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where is microcement used?<\/strong><br>\u2013 on feature walls and full walls in the living room, bedroom and kitchen; <br>\u2013 behind the kitchen worktop (backsplash); <br>\u2013 on bathroom walls, where there is moisture; <br>\u2013 on facades and in outdoor spaces (here a special, weather-resistant product is used). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where microcement should not be used?<\/strong><br>It is just as important to know the limits. Mira microcement is a product for walls, so it should not be applied: <br>\u2013 on floors and stair treads \u2014 surfaces that are walked on, because constant load wears them down over time; <br>\u2013 in the shower zone, where there is a direct and constant stream of water \u2014 that calls for tiles or a waterproofing system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These limits are not a shortcoming, but an honest use of the material where it performs best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why do people choose it? <\/strong><br>People choose microcement for three reasons: the seamless, calm look; the wide range of shades; and practicality \u2014 a properly sealed surface is durable and easy to care for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">If you are only just getting to know microcement, the core product for interior walls is 6820 micro decor \u2014 a fine-grained microcement with a wide range of shades.
